Adam_is

1980 Born in Athens, Greece.
1983-1985 Started piano, after two lessons he stopped. He sees punks in the streets and watches pirates on TV (Captain Harlock) and wants to become both.
1993 Gets a bass-guitar and plays in a not worth mentioning school group for a few months before being kicked out. 1994 Having no one to play music with, he experiments with the bass-guitar (guitar-rapping). Starts playing piano on his own.
1995 Learns the beauty of listening to music on a walkman with almost low battery power. 1996 Takes drawing lessons.
1999 Gets an electric guitar.
2001-today Studies painting in the School of Fine Arts in Athens.
2003 Creates his alter ego Mephisto.
2004-2005 Studies Environmental Art, Printing and Painting in the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. Becomes interested in sound as an art medium.
2005-today Continues his studies in printing in the School of Fine Arts in Athens. 2006 Makes his first personal field recording on minidisc.
2007 Member of the band Yin Che Yang (guitars, recordings, toy instruments). First and last performace of the band at PLATFORMES, in Athens, in January 2007. Moles: debut album of field recordings from a tunnel construction. The same year he played guitar in a 3 hour drone with Mecha/Orga, Tasos Stamou and Giorgos Poulios whith artist Vasiis Vlastaras VJing in PLATFORMES. In June-July
2008 he recorded Mediated Meditations with Tasos Stamou. Mediated Meditations was recordered with droning string instruments, live signal-processings and multi-layered choirs creating a N[ois](e)w album.
In January 2010 Adam_is they realized a crazy idea that they had with Nicolas Malevitsis (Absurd). That project that was finally called Man in Man was planned in the beginning to be a gig in a lorry truck but ended up being a video lecture on anthropomorphism (human-likeness) by architect-writer-curator Thanasis Moutsopoulos projected and manipulated by Caesar Vrettos and followed by tape loops of various sounds, noise, choirs and field recordings according to the lecture.
In May of 2010  he performed The Ventriloquist Priest in Guerilla Cinematography which was his first solo performance. A few months later he collaborated with Old Fashioned Donkeys in a screaming tribute to Ronnie James DIO. In August of the same year he created the Black Metal spoof performance persona called PUTSUM.
In October 2010 he made a spiritualist performance in the Athens School of Fine Arts and started playing with Dead Gum as Manic Strip Teachers.
In 2011 he presented a new version of the “Ventriloquist Priest” in 3 solos of Sonic Performance.
Mephisto Me Installation was presented on September 2009 in the XIV Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean in Skopje and the 4th Performance ART workshop & shows at Mahmoud Mokhtar Cultural Center in Cairo on April 2011.
As of January 2012 he has performed one more time in the Athens School of Fine Arts and performed with Old Fashioned All Stars. As PUTSUM he has conducted burial rites, a wedding and other liturgies each time using different elements in his performances.
